All the cool kids are doing it

Yes, Alisi has joined the ranks of artists with a DVD release just in time for Christmas.

The DVD is a special limited release just for family, but we’ve provided a sneak peek here – a compilation of her weekly Friday photos. I’m not sure whether the Sugar Plum Fairy accompaniment is really appropriate. A delicate fairy doesn’t usually spring to mind when I watch her speeding around the house on all fours. But it’s short and quite cute nonetheless.

So Alisi’s crew (me) has been directing, editing and producing Alisi’s Christmas DVD 2010 this weekend.

Head over to Scissors Paper Rock to see what others have been doing this weekend.

I don’t bake

I’m not much of a baker. Cakes confound me and biscuits are bamboozling.

But I was inspired when I won these cute mini Christmas cookie cutters in a Frills in the Hills giveaway.

I found an easy biscuit recipe in the kids section of the Coles Christmas Magazine. Surely I could manage a kids recipe!

And I made these!

(Not shown are the ones with the burned bottoms and the wibbly icing.)

At my house…

At my house I’ve been busy making a cute sundress for Alisi – the one I’ve been dreaming about.

The pattern is Oliver + S tea party sundress and bloomers. I used Andover Fabrics Castle Peeps by Lizzie House “Castle Town Royal Blue” fabric – part of the pile I bought from Fabricworm.

Here’s a close up showing the piping and shoulder strap.

It was fun to make. I’m still getting used to how slow sewing is now that there’s a baby in the house.

Can’t wait for a nice warm day so Alisi can wear it.

My parents came for lunch and an Alisi fix on Saturday. And Alisi’s Daddy put up the Christmas tree.

I’ve also been doing a lot of agonising and soul searching over my impending return to full time work. Leaving my little girl in care five days a week is not a happy thought at all.
